MDRC Experts Featured in July 28 Webinar on the Role of Faculty in College Credit Transfer Decisions
The National Institute on the Study of Transfer Students is hosting a webinar, “Insights & Strategies for Enhancing Transfer Student Success: How Faculty Members Influence Credit Transfer,” on Monday, July 28, at 2 pm (EDT), featuring MDRC's Marjorie Dorimé-Williams and Sophia Sutcliffe. This session is designed for faculty, staff, college and university administrators, and researchers who are dedicated to improving transfer student outcomes.
Dorimé-Williams and Sutcliffe are coauthors of a recent report, How Faculty Members Influence Credit Transfer at Four-Year Institutions: Building Knowledge to Improve Transfer Student Outcomes, which explores the critical role of faculty in transfer credit evaluation and curricular alignment at four-year institutions.
The webinar will cover the difference between credit transfer and credit applicability, the challenges and best practices in evaluating transfer credits, the impact of faculty decision-making on transfer student success, and tools institutions and systems can use to improve transfer. Dorimé-Williams and Sutcliffe will also discuss the importance of interdepartmental coordination, the role of technology in streamlining transfer processes, and the need for data-informed decision-making.
Registration for the webinar is free.
