MDRC Center for Effective Career and Technical Education Receives Grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York

The Carnegie Corporation of New York recently awarded a $500,000 grant to support the MDRC Center for Effective Career and Technical Education (CTE). Founded in 2018, the Center incubates new ideas, synthesizes findings and lessons learned, and disseminates this knowledge to policymakers, practitioners, and other researchers in order to ensure that the expansion of CTE programs — in secondary, postsecondary, and workforce development settings — is informed by a growing evidence base. The Center is supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the ECMC Foundation.

The new grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York will support:

  • Developing knowledge about the relationship between advising and equitable access to CTE opportunities within school and program settings.
  • Generating knowledge about the distribution of resources for CTE and about trade-offs related to the delivery of different kinds of postsecondary preparation.
  • Developing greater understanding of the linkages and opportunities for cross-sector learning across the K12, postsecondary education, and workforce development sectors.
