On Friday, July 20, Lindsey Christ of New York City’s cable news channel, NY1, reported on the new results from MDRC’s long-term study of Kingsborough Community College’s (KCC’s) learning communities program. Students who participated in the one-semester learning communities, in which small groups of student took three linked classes together and received other extra services, were more likely to have graduated six years later. The program also proved to be cost-effective.
