Alexander serves in a cross-functional role: He provides training to staff members across policy areas on standards in report and proposal production, and also works in the K-12 and postsecondary education policy areas, contributing to various projects and serving as a proposal coordinator. Immediately before joining MDRC, Alexander was the data specialist for the College Board’s Access to Opportunity Division. There his team created innovative tools and worked with school districts across the country to address barriers in access to financial aid, college guidance, and standardized test practice. His research has crossed the areas of education, public health, and policy. In the classroom, Alexander has focused his efforts on diversifying statistics courses at the middle school, high school, and postsecondary levels. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and his master’s degree in psychology.
