Selby is a data scientist and technical research associate in the Center for Data Insights. Selby's work uses data science approaches in program evaluation across multiple policy domains, including education, labor market, technology, and economic development. Some of Selby's current projects include evaluating the Washington College Grant program, using sequence analysis to understand K-12 education to career pathways, and using machine learning to extract heterogeneous treatment effects. Before joining MDRC, Selby was the director of accountability for the Arizona Department of Education and a former high school teacher. Selby holds a master's degree in public policy from George Mason University and a doctoral degree in public policy and administration from Arizona State University.
