Seeking State Agencies to Test Economic Mobility Program Services

The State IMPACT (Innovative Models for Policy Acceleration and Collaborative Testing) Collaborative, a project of MDRC and the Coleridge Initiative, is seeking state agencies interested in testing variations in economic mobility program services, such as enhancing a program by adding a new component or improving an existing service.

Tests must be programmatically feasible within a short time frame and have readily available data for measuring outcomes. Proposed tests must target systems, operations, or policies in one of the following domains: workforce development, higher education, income support, housing, or justice programs.

State agencies will receive a grant to support their participation in the State IMPACT Collaborative and the development and completion of economic mobility-focused evaluations. Grants of up to $75,000 per year will be paid and tied to the achievement of project milestones.

Benefits for state agencies of participating in the State IMPACT Collaborative include:

  • Two tracks customized to your state agency’s data readiness
  • One-on-one support from dedicated coaches
  • Direct access to national experts
  • Hands-on training in applied data analytics and evaluation
  • Instructional webinars on a wide range of data and evaluation topics
  • Annual cross-site in-person convenings
  • Tools and templates

Interested state agencies should submit a letter of interest by Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
