Sarah Magnelia is a resource manager/research analyst in MDRC’s Postsecondary Education policy area, where she provides project teams with strategic management, logistical, and operational support. Prior to joining MDRC, Sarah was a research project manager at the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice, where she managed a portfolio of research projects focused on securing college students’ basic needs. Sarah also spent several years working for the School District of Philadelphia, first as an Education Pioneers fellow in the Office of the Superintendent and later as a project manager in the Office of Multilingual Curriculum and Programs. Sarah began her career serving as a college adviser with the College Advising Corps and KIPP Philadelphia Schools. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and geography from the University of Texas at Austin.
