Effective April 9, 2003, MDRC became the registered corporate name of our organization. In taking this step, MDRC formally ends use of Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation in favor of the name by which we have become best known to our professional colleagues and the general public. We remain, as we have been since our founding in 1974, a nonprofit, nonpartisan social policy research organization dedicated to learning what works to improve the well-being of low-income people. Through our research and the active communication of our findings, we seek to enhance the effectiveness of public policies and programs.
